How to Add Login & Sign Up to a Lovable App
Most real apps need user accounts. Lovable can build sign-up, sign-in and protected pages for you, connected to its built-in backend.
Add login in 4 steps
- In the chat, ask: “Add login to my app. Require login before accessing the dashboard.”
- Lovable builds the sign-up and sign-in pages and connects them to Lovable Cloud.
- Test it in the preview: create an account, sign out, sign in again.
- Manage users and sign-in methods under More → Cloud → Users.
Sign-in methods
| Method | Notes |
|---|---|
| Email and password | The default and simplest |
| Popular and fast for users | |
| Apple, Microsoft | Available |
| Phone (SMS) | Needs your own SMS provider |
| SAML SSO | For company logins |
Keep each user's data private
Ask Lovable to make sure “each user can only see their own data”. It sets up database rules (row-level security) so one user can never read another's records.
Then test with two accounts: sign in as each one and check you only see your own items.
Useful prompts
- “Add a Sign in with Google button.”
- “Add a profile page where users can change their name and photo.”
- “Add a forgot-password link.”
- “Only admins can open the Admin page — store roles safely.”
