Lovable SEO: How to Get Your Site on Google
A beautiful app is useless if nobody finds it. These are the steps that actually move a Lovable site into Google's results — and the ones that don't.
The 5-step SEO setup
- Publish publicly. Private or unpublished sites can't be indexed.
- Open More → SEO & AI search and click Scan project. Review the findings and use Try to fix.
- Connect Google Search Console and submit your sitemap (Lovable can do it from chat). Publish first.
- Use URL Inspection in Search Console to request indexing for your most important pages.
- Keep adding useful pages and earn links from other sites.
What Google looks for
| Factor | What to do |
|---|---|
| Unique titles and descriptions | One clear title per page with the main search words first |
| Useful content | Answer the real question better than others |
| Internal links | Link related pages to each other |
| Speed and mobile | Test on a phone; keep images small |
| Backlinks | Get mentioned on Reddit, blogs, YouTube, directories |
| Structured data | FAQ and article data where it fits |
Mistakes that hold sites back
- Many near-identical pages with only a word changed.
- Titles longer than ~60 characters that get cut off.
- Images without alt text.
- Old links that now show the home page instead of a 404 or redirect.
- Expecting results in days — new domains take months.
How long does it take?
Indexing can take hours to days. Ranking well takes longer and depends on competition and how much other sites trust yours. The scan checks technical items, but it can't guarantee rankings.
Custom domain or lovable.app?
Both can be indexed. A custom domain builds your own brand and keeps all your search history in one place if you ever move.
Frequently asked questions
Can Lovable sites rank on Google?
Yes. Published public Lovable sites are crawlable; rankings depend on content, links and time.
Is the SEO scan free?
Yes, the review is free on all plans. Applying fixes uses normal credits.
How do I submit my sitemap?
Connect Google Search Console and submit it, or ask Lovable to do it from chat after publishing.
Why isn't my site on Google yet?
New sites take time. Check it's public and published, then request indexing in Search Console.
Do I need a custom domain for SEO?
No, but it helps your brand and keeps your search presence in one place.
